The Oyo State Government has vowed to prosecute the reckless driver responsible for the death of Kehinde Fabunmi,

a Level 4 officer of the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA). Fabunmi was killed on Saturday by a driver of a Black 4matic Benz with number plate LSD 862 JS, who disobeyed a traffic light and was apprehended by OYRTMA officers. The driver, in an attempt to escape, reversed his vehicle and struck Fabunmi, who had approached the vehicle, causing severe head injuries that ultimately led to his death.

OYRTMA Chairman Adekoya Adesagba condemned the killing, emphasizing that OYRTMA officers work tirelessly to ensure safety and security, and anyone who assaults or disrespects them will face the full wrath of the law ¹. Adesagba commended the swift response of the police and OYRTMA officers in apprehending the suspect and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased. The suspect has been arraigned at the Magistrate Court, Iyaganku, and remains in police custody, with the case adjourned to Thursday.
