In the state of Katsina, a remarkable story of honesty and integrity unfolded

. Malama Abdulkadir-Yanmama, a woman of great character, received an unexpected alert on her phone. The notification informed her of a payment of N748,320, which was meant for vendors participating in the Federal Government's Home Grown School feeding programme.

However, Abdulkadir-Yanmama was not a registered vendor for the programme, and she knew that the money didn't belong to her. Despite the temptation to keep the funds, she decided to take the right course of action. With a strong sense of integrity, she went to the office of the Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency to report the error.

The Executive Director of the agency, Dr. Mudassir Nasir, was impressed by Abdulkadir-Yanmama's honesty. He explained that the agency verified her story by requesting her bank statement, which confirmed that she was telling the truth. The office of the auditor-general also verified the information, and it was clear that Abdulkadir-Yanmama had acted with integrity.

As a result of her honesty, Governor Dikko Radda directed that Abdulkadir-Yanmama be rewarded with N500,000. She was also honored with a commendation letter and offered the opportunity to participate in the next school feeding programme. The governor was pleased with her actions and wanted to encourage others to emulate her example.

During the presentation of the reward, the state's Auditor-General, Alhaji Anas Tukur-Abdulƙadir, praised Abdulkadir-Yanmama for her integrity. He stated that she deserved even more honors for her actions. Abdulkadir-Yanmama was grateful for the recognition and thanked the governor and the agency for their support.

Her story serves as a reminder that honesty and integrity are essential values that should be upheld in all aspects of life. By doing the right thing, even when it's difficult, Abdulkadir-Yanmama demonstrated that character and integrity can lead to positive consequences.
