This week, Nigeria has been blessed with an abundance of positive news. The economy has shown significant growth with a GDP growth rate of 3.46%. Unemployment rates have decreased to 4.2%. JBS has announced a whopping $2.5 billion investment in Nigeria. The Port Harcourt Refinery is now operational, delivering much-needed petrol. And to top it all off, Nigeria's external reserves have grown to over $40 billion.¹

Yet, the Silence is Deafening

Despite these achievements, the silence from many of us is deafening. We seem to be waiting for something to go wrong so we can amplify the negativity on social media. But why is that? Why do we prefer to focus on the negative aspects of our country, rather than celebrating its successes?²
