Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is spreading some serious holiday cheer this year. He's distributed over 100 truckloads of rice to residents across the state's 21 local government areas, aiming to make Christmas and New Year's celebrations a little brighter for families. This generous move is part of his efforts to alleviate the burden of rising costs during the festive period .

According to Kingsley Fanwo, the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Governor Ododo's initiative showcases his commitment to the welfare of his people. The distribution of rice is being overseen by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to ensure it reaches those who need it most, without any political interference.

But that's not all - Governor Ododo also made sure to pay civil servants' salaries on time, on December 14, 2024, and provided for residents not directly on the government payroll. His actions have sparked jubilation among residents, with many praising his leadership and compassion. One resident, Andrew Abah, even described him as a leader with an "unwavering commitment to his people.
