Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, has made some shocking revelations about the influence of cabals in Nigerian governance. According to him, a powerful group of ambitious individuals hijacked power after President Muhammadu Buhari's victory in 2015, running the presidency at their own expense and interest. This group, which emerged seemingly out of nowhere, sidelined those who had campaigned for Buhari, leaving him vulnerable to their manipulation.

Dalung shared a personal experience, where he was blocked from entering Buhari's house on the day he was declared winner, and had to make calls to gain access. This, he claimed, marked the beginning of the cabal's takeover. He criticized the situation, stating that the people who truly worked for Buhari were too busy celebrating to notice the cabal's rise to power.

When asked about the current administration under President Bola Tinubu, Dalung suggested that the dynamics have shifted within the ruling All Progressives Congress. He described the party as a complex political architecture, likening it to a zoo. Dalung also refuted claims that the Buhari administration was run by a Congress for Progressive Change cabal, instead alleging that the government was hijacked by non-politicians who amassed significant wealth and power over the years .

It's worth noting that Dalung has previously spoken about the existence of a cabal in the sports sector, advising his successor, Sunday Dare, not to allow them to intimidate him. His latest revelations, however, shed more light on the inner workings of Nigerian politics and the influence of powerful groups on governance .
