A Turkish company, Direkci Group, is set to revolutionize agriculture in Zamfara State through mechanized farming and greenhouse technology. The company plans to cultivate cotton, sugarcane, and soybeans on a large scale, implementing advanced methods like mechanized farming, greenhouse technology, and poultry farming .

Governor Dauda Lawal has welcomed the partnership, emphasizing his administration's commitment to achieving food security and creating employment opportunities. Lawal noted that Zamfara State is recognized as an agricultural society, and his goal is to revive this sector by securing the state and providing advanced technologies for farmers .

The Direkci Group's initiative is expected to enhance agriculture value chains, attract investment, and foster local economic growth. The introduction of greenhouses will allow year-round cultivation, improve crop yield and quality, and reduce import dependence. Mechanized farming and poultry initiatives will also create employment opportunities across various skill levels .

This development is part of Governor Lawal's efforts to transform the agricultural sector in Zamfara State. Previously, he launched the distribution of farm inputs to farmers in various local government areas, including Bakura, Mafara, and Maradun ². He also commissioned road construction and reconstruction of the General Hospital in Bukkuyum LGA .
